Crews are giving it their “all” in Wexford
Tons of steel; Cubes of block; Pallets of mortar; We’re raising a structure!

First floor walls and the second floor – just around the corner!
Framing has kicked into high gear.
Framing has started with a fury! The first board was cut Friday at 3pm, its now 3pm on Monday and all of the lower level has been framed. Next to go up are the floor trusses.
At the same time the framing is going on the block crew is working hard to stay out in front of them with the block for the elevator shaft.
Progress at Hilton Head Lakes
A lot of work has been done in the past week and a half. The perimeter wall has been formed, poured, and stripped. The columns at the lower level have been erected, and now we are starting to get the final grade and interior footing done in preparation to pour the slab on Monday.
Here is a short video of our progress in the past 2 weeks.
Enjoy!
Getting Closer at Southpaw
Over the last few days a lot of progress was made at Southpaw to prep for the K-9 Grass. The decks were completed, fence posts set, stone delivered and final grades have been contoured. Tomorrow we pour the boundary curbing and begin to spread the stone base material. Everything is taking shape…this is going to be a remarkable facility.
We’ve got a floor!
Steel now starts to reach toward floor #2 and to the attic beams that support the future roof.
At this stage the framers shift to steel erection while the AAC installation crew begin building leads for the first floor exterior walls.
The AAC work will take approximately two weeks – the framers then move back in to construct the interior wood walls and make preparations for the second floor trusses.
We press on!
Concrete Work Goes into the Night
Concrete was poured at Seaside Sparrow today and the final finishing went into the night. See the pictures below of the family room topping and the new driveway turnout. Framing starts in the morning.
Sneaking up on Floor # 1
Starting to visualize the main level.
When constructing a home of this caliber, a builder must possess the innate ability to see not only the completed home, have an understanding of the owners expectations of actual life in their new home, but to also have the insight to balance the abilities of men and materials.
Getting to this point is a very exciting time for the Owners; what has been an abstract process suddenly takes on reality as first floor views are revealed and the future rooms can be walked through.
The next several blogs will document the delineation of those spaces and the run-up to the second floor
